About Me:

About Me:

I live in Riverside, Ca. since 1971, I was born 1933 and raised in Fort Scott, Kans. I am single, I lost my wife, in 1992. She died of Cancer.  We had 8 kids, 6 boys and two girls. Lost one boy when he was 9 yrs. Have 13 Grand kids.

I live in a small Apt. at a nice Apt. complex, here at Riverside. I belong to Bally's fitness center, which I try to get at least two workouts it a week, sometimes three, but it getting harder it seems.  I like to ride my Motorcycle, a 1983 Honda 1000 cc.

Mostly I stay in the bible, studying for understanding and trying to let the Word renew me.

My testimony

Our God is in control

Before we came to God most of us were trying to live good and descent lives, those that were raised and baptize as Christens.  I guess some of us that wasn’t baptize or around religion it was different, I don’t know and I can’t speak on that.

I was Baptize when I was two week’s old and raised Catholic, going to confession and trying to be a good Catholic, and live by the law.  I was never able to accomplish that. I tried, Married had 8 kids and was always in the fear of God. I tried to do right but, it seems the harder I tried the worst I got. I ended up drinking and was on Libria and Valium for over 30 years. 57 to 88. I got so bad and so depressed, nervous, confused and out of control that I couldn’t do anything and I ended up taking disability in 1968 and continue keep getting worst. I was so depressed I used to spend 3 to 4 months in bed at a time, until I would start drinking just to see if I was still alive. and to see if I could get moving.  This went on progressive until 1986 when my wife left me. I became homeless and alone, People was trying to help me and get me to God but I told them they didn’t know what they were talking about, and don’t  try to tell me because I’m Catholic. and I knew God. which I did, and I knew the law. but the devil can say that too. But I didn’t know the Grace of God or the personal relationship with God. Just the fear of God, and I have the Catholic church to thank for that. At least The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom, and the law is what bring you to God. I met a Baptist peachier and good friend name Morris Lee, that used to come and see me, and tell me how simple it was to accept Jesus, and I kept telling him that it just couldn’t be that simple, he told me it was letting go and trusting God to do the work in you, that I can’t do it. He was right and that what I been doing ever since, I still get in God way, and try to get ahead of Him, I have been bound by religion all my life and taught that there only one way do it, the right way, and just do it, sounds good and I brought it for years. But it don’t work, It might work for Michele Jordan, but not for me, when God pulls your strength, you die or turn to God, or like Nebuchadnezzar eating grass in the field like a cow.

I have been trying to keep it simple and let go and let God. But still get caught up in my own self effort, and end up beating my head against the wall. I still have a long way to go, But thank God I am not  where I was. I know He is taking care of me, I do what I can to help people, but it very little, I'm  too busy trying to take care of myself stay out of an institution, live independently and trust and stay in the Word for understanding and letting it change me.  And standing on the promises of God, that He who began a good work in me, will finish it.

But no matter what happens I know He is my only hope, and it His righteous I am seeking, not my own, I know I am helpless to save myself. No it’s not by might or power, but by His Spirit. It is in Him that He is making a way and directing my path.  May all the Glory and honor go to Him.

"Even so consider yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus. Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its lusts, and do not go on presenting the members of your body to sin as instruments of unrighteousness; but present yourselves to God as those alive form the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. For sin shall not be master over you, for you are not under law but under grace."
Rom 6:11-14

"Therefore confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much."
James 5:16

"It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery."
Galatians 5:1

"But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh. For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please."
Galatians 5:16-17

"Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit."
Galatians 5:24-25

"For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death."
Romans 8:2

"For those who are according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace, because the mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able to do so, and those who are in the flesh cannot please God. However you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you."
Romans 8:5-9

"Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth. For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God."
Colossians 3:1-3

"Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world. The world is passing away, and also its lusts; but the one who does the will of God lives forever."
1 John 2:15-17

"For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world- our faith. Who is the one who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God."
1 John 5:4-5

"You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world."
1 John 4:4

"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
Phillipians 4:6-7

"Finally, bretheren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute , if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you."
Phillipians 4:8-9

"I can do all things through Him who strengthens me."
Phillipians 4:13

"Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you."
James 4:7

The Great Tribulation What is it? Will we go though it?

This is a detailed study of the great tribulation as found in scripture. Below is the summary and introduction. The full study is over 70 pages and can be downloaded as a zipped rtf document here (105k).

Summary

When we talk about 'The Great tribulation' we are primarily talking about Rev 7:14. However there are about eight events described in the bible that come to mind when we mention this event. These are each examined to see what the scripture says.

The Great Tribulation?

  1. The great tribulation of Rev 7:14.
  2. The great distress of Mat 24:21, Mark 13:19 and Luke 21:20-24
  3. The time of anguish and perplexity in Luke 21:25
  4. The man of lawlessness in 2 Thess 2:3
  5. The seven trumpets and bowls of Revelation.
  6. The beast(s) of Rev 13
  7. The time of distress spoken about in Daniel 12:1
  8. The hour of trial (Rev 3:10).

The Greek word thlipsis used for tribulation in Rev 7:14 (the great tribulation) is a word that covers a wide range of conditions varying from marriage, hardship, childbirth and persecution to the great distress of Mat 24:21. An examination of scripture confirms that tribulation in its various forms is to be expected by Christians while on earth. Paul and James tell us to rejoice in our sufferings and trials because these produce perseverance, character and maturity. Paul contrasts our temporary afflictions in this life with the eternal glory they achieve for us. Scripture is then examined to see what it says about persecution and its message is that we should not be taken by surprise by persecution even to death. Jesus tells us to rejoice when we are persecuted because great is our reward in heaven.

(2 Tim 3:12 NIV) In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted,

The great distress described in Mat 24, Mark 13 and Luke 21 is examined and it is clear that the elect are on earth during this period and that the rapture occurs after this event. These passages also make it clear that persecution will occur and false prophets will arise before the great distress. However there is significant evidence based on Luke's parallel account that the distress spoken about was fulfilled in AD 70 by the destruction of Jerusalem by the Romans (Luke 21:20-24). Luke's account however mentions a second and distinct time, prior to the Second Coming, when there will be signs in the sun and moon and stars and perplexity and anguish on earth because of the tossing of the sea and shaking of the heavenly bodies (Luke 21:25-26).

Although the period of great tribulation in Mat 24:21 is usually thought to be world-wide and to occur at the end of the age a closer look demonstrates otherwise.

  • Jesus was answering a question about the destruction of Herod's temple.
  • Luke's parallel account (21:20-24) clearly shows that Mat 24:21 refers to the fall of Jerusalem in AD 70.
  • It is localised to the Judea region - it is not world-wide, because those in Judea are told to flee to the mountains in all three parallel accounts (Mat 24:16, Mark 13:14, Luke 21:21).
  • The fact that Jesus says that it is "never to be equaled again" should indicate to us that it does not occur at the end of the world.
  • Both Mat 23:36 and 24:34 say that this will happen in the generation alive when Jesus spoke.

Amillennialism
by Prof. Robert B. Strimple

I. Christ: The Theme of O.T. Prophecy

A. Premillennial's Literal Hermeneutic: Dispensational premillennialists regard the as yet unfulfilled OT prophesies given to Israel under the old covenant as having a literal fulfillment in the millennium. This will entail a return to the Old Covenant, including:
1. Jerusalem as capital city of the kingdom
2. The temple rebuilt
3. A reestablished priesthood
4. Animal sacrifices again offered
5. Christ entering the temple each Sabbath by the eastern gate while the priests offer sacrifices (Ez 46)
6.Observation of dietary laws
7. Circumcision (Ez 44:23, 9)

The 70 Weeks of Daniel Chapter 9

by Tony Warren

We begin this study of the seventy weeks of Daniel Chapter 9 with verse 24, where the prophecy of this vision begins.

Daniel 9:24

  • "Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy."

There are many questions that can be asked about this first verse, but there is no need for supposition or idle speculation. Because God has answered them all, right in the context itself. Let's look at these seven questions.

1. Who are these, "Thy People?"
2. How is it determined to "finish (restrain) the transgression?"
3. What is the, "make an end" (sealing up) of Sins?
4. What is the, "making reconciliation" for iniquity?
5. How is this "Everlasting Righteousness" brought in?
6. Why is it determined to "Seal up the vision and the prophet?"
7. What is the "Anointing of the Most Holy?"
